.IT Domains

Introduced in 1987, Italy’s .IT country-specific top-level domain is really popular both locally and in the English-speaking world. The reason is that the domain is a pronoun, which can be used for building imaginative and catchy domain names – write.it, youcanmake.it and so on. This is a way to create an easy-to-memorize domain name, so that it will be easier for your visitors to return to your website or to share it with associates and fellows. The extension can also be used for a website, which is connected to the technology sector having in mind that IT is an abbreviation, which is well-known around the globe.

Considering that .IT domains are not provided directly by IT-NIC, the Registry organization that supervises this TLD, such a domain can be acquired through a 3rd-party service provider, such as ours. We will manage the registration process for you and take care of submitting your application to the Registry. You can secure a .IT domain for a period of 1 year at a time, and the domains are transferable, so you can move your existing domain over to our company and we will renew it once the transfer has been done. The sole prerequisite is that the person acquiring such a domain needs to be located in a country from the European Union.

Because there are existing Second-Level Domains that include names of different regions and localities in Italy reserved for local 3rd-level registrations, new names that include geographical areas of any sort are not permitted on any level to avoid any future confusion. We do not offer such 3rd-level domains, though, because they can be registered only by locals.
